Well we made it!

After running all the way across Heathrow Airport from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3, here we are at the Virgin Atlantic Desk finding out that our brilliant employers at(BLANK) Entertainment has booked us on an impossible flight. In fact we only had 30 minutes to pick up our bags, run across the airport, and then re-check in for the flight to LA. We got to Virgin 5 minutes too late. So, drenched in sweat and very disappointed, we were asked to weave in and out of an empty roped maze with our 3 carts full of luggage up to the desk pictured above. This is when they tell us that we can't go home today and the next flight is not until tomorrow at noon. Our Company does it again! Thanks Susan. Thanks Emily. Thanks Phillis at Will(Blank) Travel! Thanks for screwing us up yet again! Why is it your fault? Well, because it is your job to take care of us. It is your job to make sure we are able to do our job. It is your job to get us home safe and on time. But as always we get,"I have no idea about...." No, I'm sorry, hang on I'll take care of it. No! We actually are spoken to like it's our fault! Passing the buck as(s) usual! When will you ever take responsibility for your actions? Never, like chickens do. So again we have to bail ourselves out by getting our own hotel rooms for the night. Brilliant! It cost each of us 107.00 pounds which is roughly $200.00 USD! Yippy.

Anyway, here's some more picts from the trip from HELL!

After a pleasant stay at the Renessance Hotel, we pick up our bags at the "left" baggage center and wheel everything to the dreaded Virgin check in counter. Virgin is very strict with their baggage requirments and with our luck we'll be overweight or have to pay for extra baggage. At first, we are met by a very busy and tired irritated woman and I'm thinking," Oh, no. She's gonna make life even more hellacious for us. But thankfully, I was wrong. She became quite pleasant and even ran all the way down the baggage line to get Bao's bag which she mistakingly tagged twice. After a long while, we thought that she got bagged and tagged and locked aboard the plane. But she emerged out of breathe and smiling. We all cheered and laughed. And we were on our way to this next site...

By the way here's a shot of my last English breakfast. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically baked beans, ham, sausages, toast, tomatoes, hashbrowns, eggs, and fried toast (yep deep fried), and of course blood pudding. Yep it has blood in it, yum! It isn't that bad, but as you can see I've opted for replacing that with some good old Diet Coke.

Well we made it... on the plane... FINALLY! Just checking in our bags made us feel better with a greater sense of relief as if we are actually going to make it. But once we sat in our seats and clicked the buckles and the plane began to roll and then actually took off... that's when we felt better about getting home. Going home! "I'm O.K. to GO!", that's what the character Jodi Foster played in the movie CONTACT said just before she took a trip in an alien spacecraft. I'm O.K. to go, too!

Worth the wait... Seeing Heather and the kids at the airport made all the problems go away. All I can think of is getting to the house and just being with my family once again.
